Our popular Mini Recital series is back for another year. They are a smaller-scale performance opportunity at our school for students who wish to play before the main recital dates, or simply wish to play for a smaller audience. Performances start at noon on specific Saturdays. The dates for this year's Mini Recitals are:

  • November 29, 2014
  • December 13, 2014
  • February 28, 2015
  • April 25, 2015
  • May 23, 2015

There is no cost, as these performances are covered by our $10 annual performance fee. Feel free to play in any or all of these concerts! We look forward to hearing our students showcase their talents.

The summer is a great time for students to relax. But for our faculty, it's a great time to perform, practice and learn. We're thrilled to unveil a fun project coming very soon: an album by Joanna Chapman-Smith, to be performed by our own faculty!

We're gearing up for our end of the year recital, but one concert isn't enough: We'll have to have two of them!

Our Recitals will take place on Sunday, June 9. However, due to overwhelming numbers, we will have two concerts: The first begins at 11:00 running until just after 12:00. The second concert will begin at 12:45, running until just before 2. Time slots are first come, first served, so please speak to your teacher if you have a preferred time to perform!

The concerts will be held at the Women's Art Association Gallery, located at 23 Prince Arthur Avenue, near Bloor and Avenue Road.

The cost is $10 per student.

The Women's Art Association Gallery is close to the St. George subway station, with lots of street parking and a large Green P lot within a block or two of the building. Click this link to View a map.

All of us are very excited to see the amazing talent come out and shine, crossing all ages, abilities and instruments. These concerts are always our comminuty at its very best, so don't miss out!

Our amazing faculty at ToMA is always busy - often too busy to tell us what they're up to when they aren't teaching! But we finally tracked them down and were able to get some details of some of their recent and upcoming events.

Possibly the most often-requested instrument we get asked about, we can finally say yes! Toronto Music Alliance is thrilled to welcome guitarist/composer Richard Fortin to our faculty. You can read his bio, or read on for more information about our latest teacher.
