Our singing/songwriting teacher, Joanna Chapman-Smith has some words of wisdom for aspiring songwriters:

David asked me to reflect on songwriting this month, and to share something with the ToMA community for the school blog. "Easy," I thought, "There is so much going on for me creatively, and songwriting is something I know a lot about." However, when I sat down to write, I realized I have not written a new song for at least three months - oh, how the time flies - and I realized that I have flagrantly ignored one of the first rules of creation:

Take the time and give voice to something relevent.
