Karen Broadhurst

PhD, ARCT, RMT

Dr. Karen Broadhurst has been teaching piano and theory for many years.  Karen has studied at the University of Toronto, Universitė Laval, Universitė Paris-Sorbonne, the University of Cambridge and the University of London, England.  She studied piano with Madeline Bone and Margaret Parsons Poole and music theory and history with Yvonne Amos, earning her ARCT.

Fluently bilingual, Karen is able to teach in either English or French.

Karen’s students often perform in music festivals such as the Kiwanis, the North York Music Festival, and the non-competitive Canadian Contemporary Showcase.  They also participate regularly in Royal Conservatory piano and theory exams, with excellent results.

Karen’s passion is instilling in her students a life-long love of Classical music by teaching them to play the piano well, by explaining theory intelligently to them and by conveying to them the historical context of both.

Why Online-Only Lessons?
