Marlies Day at Scotiabank Arena

Toronto Music Alliance has been fortunate enough to be a partner with MLSE and the Toronto Marlies since 2018, performing the national anthems nearly every Family Day since (except 2021, but that one was understandable!). This year was no different, and our community really put on a show.

It starts with our incredible faculty preparing our students throughout the year. We have a huge ensemble made up of students of all disciplines, including voice, piano (who sing with us), strings, and guitar. It’s an amazing sound! We made arrangements for all available instruments that, even if you’re just starting out, there’s a part just for you. Seriously: We have a violin part with three notes in it, but every one of them counts!

On the day of the performance, we’re a well-oiled machine. We do our soundchecks, work with broadcast to make sure things are lined up correctly, and work with arena staff to make sure our pre-game ceremony is ready to go! In fact, we’re invited back year after year because of our community’s commitment to quality of performance, and professionalism. Being easy to work with goes a long way! And the result?

Another fantastic show! Then our community gets to enjoy the game from some of the best seats in the house. We must have been a good luck charm because…

MARLIES WIN! And it wasn’t even close. We’re excited to do it all over again next year. It’s an incredibly fun event, and we love sharing it with our community. Maybe you’d like to join us!
